Montaña de Las Toscas Recreational Area

At the base of Montaña de Las Toscas, very close to the town of Villa de Mazo, is this pleasant outdoor space surrounded by a lush pine forest. The recreational area is equipped with stoves, tables, a drinking water fountain, and stone and wood benches, distributed along the hillside, allowing you to enjoy picnics in a cool and shady environment.

It is a perfect place to spend a day with family or friends, combining rest and nature. From here, small paths lead to the Las Toscas Astronomical Viewpoint, inviting you to walk under the pine forest and contemplate the tranquility of the landscape, with the sea and the midlands of the municipality always as a backdrop.

It is easily accessed from the LP-206 road, taking the detour along the Camino Nambroque and then along the Camino Las Toscas. Its proximity to the urban center makes it a convenient option for those looking for a natural respite without straying too far from the town.

Morro Mojino Viewpoint

On the outskirts of the town, next to the municipal soccer field, this viewpoint offers one of the most complete postcards of the municipality. From here you can see the town in the foreground, the coastline to the north and the airport facilities, with a backdrop that extends from Las Breñas to Santa Cruz de La Palma. It is a perfect place to understand Villa de Mazo’s relationship with the sea and the region.

La Ladera Viewpoint

Leaving the town on the LP-206 road towards the north, you will find this natural balcony. The views cover agricultural neighborhoods such as El Poleal, Monte, Lodero, Monte Pueblo and part of Callejones, with their vineyards, and descend to the banana plantations of Monte Breña. Further down appear the marine breakers of La Bajita and Las Maretas, just below the airport runway. It is a viewpoint that summarizes in a single panoramic view the agricultural and coastal life of the municipality.

La Caldereta Viewpoint

Located on the edge of the volcanic crater of La Caldereta, on the road that descends from Tiguerorte to Porís, this viewpoint surprises with the breadth of its landscapes. The view extends from Montaña del Azufre to the coast of El Porís, with the neighborhoods of Tiguerorte, Tigalate and Montes de Luna staggered on the side of the mountain. It is a place where the geological force of the island merges with traditional rural life.

Airport Viewpoint

On the LP-205 road, just two kilometers from the terminal, this observation point opens. From here you get privileged views of the airport facilities and the banana fields that extend around it. It is a curious place to understand how the modernity of communications coexists in Villa de Mazo with the weight of agriculture.

Montaña de Las Toscas astronomical viewpoint

La Palma is a Starlight Reserve and its night skies are a world-famous attraction. On Montaña de Las Toscas, a few minutes from the town, is one of the island’s astronomical viewpoints, equipped with interpretive panels. From here, far from light pollution, it is easy to recognize the North Star and constellations such as Orion or Cassiopeia. It is an ideal space to experience star tourism.

Las Maretas Viewpoint

Located next to the airport terminal building, this viewpoint overlooks a historic enclave: the old coastal settlement where farmers used to tan chochos (lupin beans). Today the summer houses and the coastal landscape recall that activity linked to the sea and agriculture. A place with great ethnographic as well as landscape value.

Hoyo de Mazo Viewpoint

On the main road LP-2, just over six kilometers from Santa Cruz de La Palma, this viewpoint offers a very complete view of the municipality. In the foreground appear Lodero and its mid-mountain fields, dedicated to vineyards, while banana plantations predominate on the coastal strip. It is a strategic place to observe how the different crops adapt to the altitude and the terrain.

El Lomo Viewpoint

It is an exceptional spot where visitors can enjoy views that change with the light of day: the volcanic peak silhouetted against the horizon, the ravines plunging down towards the sea, and the endless blue of the Atlantic.
