Villa de Mazo preserves a deep rural tradition in which agriculture is still the main focus. Rain-fed and fruit crops are part of the agricultural landscape that characterizes the municipality. The municipality also excels in the production of artisanal goat cheese, thanks to small family farms grouped around the Arquemazo brand, present in both local cheese factories and shops on the island. The quality of its products is supported by livestock that is raised outdoors, feeding on pastures and shrubs in the area, which also makes Villa de Mazo a benchmark in the production of top quality beef. Another emblematic product is honey, based in the municipality of the SAT de Apicultores de La Palma, which brings together producers from all over the island. Under the Mieles Taburiente brand, this collective offers excellent quality honey that can be found in numerous shops and gastronomic fairs. The agri-food tradition is completed with a varied and tasty local pastry.
