The municipality of Villa de Mazo occupies a strategic position in the network of trails of La Palma, since several of the most important routes of the island run through its territory. Both the GR 130 – Camino Real de la Costa y Medianías and the GR 131 – El Bastón cross the municipality, allowing the connection of the historical roads that surround La Palma with the great summit route that links north and south. In addition, there are different Short Route and local trails that connect neighborhoods, midlands, summit and coastal areas, forming a network that makes Mazo a fundamental node for hikers and walkers.
