Royal Coastal Path

 

 

The GR 130 crosses the municipality longitudinally at a mid-range altitude. It passes through the seven districts linked by the LP-206 road (La Rosa, El Poleal, El Pueblo, La Sabina, Tirimaga, Tigalate and Montes de Luna) and runs a short distance from the road, which facilitates the use of public transport.

The first section is very accessible, with the proximity of two recreational areas (Montaña de la Breña and Las Toscas) joining the road. After El Pueblo, the main urban center of the municipality, the slope of the San Simón Ravine leads us to La Sabina.

From here, the descent continues to Tirimaga, where we meet the asphalt again. We cross the Ravines of La Reja and La Lava (whose flows correspond to the eruption of 1949).

Cumbre Vieja reveals the silhouettes of El Cabrito and Las Deseadas as we approach the last two districts (Tigalate and Montes de Luna).

The Malpaís de Flores, a lava field produced by the Martín Volcano (1676), leads us to Fuencaliente.

The figures given refer to the combined total for sections 7 and 8, within the municipality of Villa de Mazo (La Breña – Montes de Luna).
